AC&S GmbH strengthens ESG Group
Company acquisition enhances ESG´s consulting and training competencies in the aerospace sector.

AC&S Aerospace Consulting & Services GmbH is to become part of the ESG Group. In mid-November, ESG acquired a one-hundred-percent stake in the company, which specialises in engineering, training and consulting for the aviation and defence technology industries. The addition of AC&S has enabled ESG to enlarge its range of services for existing customers and expand its activities in the commercial aviation sector.
AC&S was founded in 1986 and employs together with its subsidiaries about 80 people. The company´s activities extend right across Europe, with successful national subsidiaries in Spain and the UK among other ventures. ESG Elektroniksystem- and Logistik-GmbH has made continuity a priority in the acquisition of this company: AC&S will continue to be operated as a independent subsidiary. Managing directors Dr. Hartmut Kräwinkel and Catherine Edwards will continue to preside over the company, while three of the present co-owners will remain in contact with the company in an advisory capacity.
"The strength of AC&S lies in its highly qualified staff, whose experience of international projects and know-how in the consulting, development and training environment makes them the ideal complement to ESG," stresses Peter Ratzinger. The deputy director of the ESG Business Area Air Vehicles will reinforce the management of AC&S until mid-2009. "AC&S possesses proven expertise in a number of areas, such as virtual training, and will put this profitably to use in the ESG Group. Their broad international operational base is also of notable benefit."
Among the customers of the ESG Business Area Air Vehicles are the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of other countries, government administration authorities, and industrial enterprises throughout Europe. The company specialises in the development, integration and operation of complex electronic and IT systems. ESG regards itself as a neutral adviser on technologies and processes for surveys, concept development and comparative systems studies, undertakes product support tasks for its customers, and supports the operational capability of the systems through specially designed training courses. The independent development and integration of new avionics systems constitutes a significant proportion of the activities in this Business Area. These systems are efficiently and cost-effectively developed and evaluated at a very early stage in an ultra-modern simulation centre. ESG is an EASA Part 21J approved aerospace development company and holds Bundeswehr certification as an aviation technology company for military air vehicles.
