ESG expands presence in Stuttgart area

Company to move into new larger premises in Neckarstrasse, Sindelfingen on 1 July 2008.

ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH is expanding its Stuttgart/Sindelfingen site. On 1 July 2008, the system and software specialist's Daimler and Porsche account will move out of its old premises in the Büro Center Sindelfingen and into considerably more spacious premises, just a few hundred metres away from the main entrance to the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. The move is an indicator of the increasing turnover and numbers of staff in the Stuttgart area, as the head of the ESG subsidiary, Gunter Stegmüller, emphasised.

At present, around 25 people work on the ESG Daimler and Porsche account. The services on offer include development support and acceptance of responsibility for components in the chassis and powertrain harness, test automation and protection for navigation systems, developing a release management process and drafting a holistic target process for generating, safeguarding and approving E/E releases. On top of this, the ESG experts in Stuttgart test SAP-based sales and job control systems, are involved in logistics projects and take charge of consulting, managing suppliers and order placement.

The new subsidiary is part of ESG's business area automotive. With 1,200 employees and a turnover of 186 million euros (2007) ESG is one of the largest engineering providers in the automotive sector. The company numbers automotive manufacturers and suppliers from around the world among its customers. ESG is an engineering service provider, process and technology consultant, and IT and training specialist for its customers. As a system partner, it supports its customers along the entire value-added chain, from development and market introduction to after sales. To do this, ESG Group operates 20 branches in Germany and abroad.

The company's main development objectives include the development and design of funktions, components and complete system architectures. ESG is responsible for the testing and integration of E/E systems. As a procee partner ESG also offers consulting, management and monitoring compliant with different process models such as CMMI and SPICE.

Through the NoAE, Network of Automotive Excellence, ESG is a member of the Competence Networks Germany initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology. In addition, the company participates in international research projects such as MYCAREVENT or SPARC as well as being a member in the FlexRay, AUTOSAR and ASAM consortiums and numerous associations such as the German Association of the Auto Industry (VDA) or its French pendant SIA.
