Increasing logistics efficiency for military deployment systems

ESG will present the EmLo® concept at the AFCEA trade exhibition from 7 - 8 May 2008.

Furstenfeldbruck/Bonn, 24 April 2008

ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH will present innovations for integrated logistics at this year's AFCEA trade exhibition from 7 to 8 May in Bonn-Bad Godesberg, including its Embedded Logistics (EmLo®) concept. The solution for comprehensive integration of logistical functions in deployment systems was developed by ESG together with Rheinmetall Defence Deutschland GmbH.

EmLo® is targeted toward increasing the efficiency of vehicle and weapons systems logistical task execution during operation, maintenance and training. Information that is already available in the vehicle and weapons systems is processed to be used optimally for logistics support. The integration of additional hardware and software creates additional functions for developing a concept for the integrated logistical collection, processing, analysis and prognosis of data relevant to vehicle and weapons systems.

With the aid of EmLo®, the availability of the vehicle/weapons system should be increased and the time spent maintaining equipment reduced. Other goals include reducing breakdowns due to damage, improved planning of preventative equipment maintenance, more efficient control of the supply chain and sustainably reducing the workload of operating, maintenance and servicing personnel.

ESG will also present its services for implementing industrial safety regulations with the aid of the OSIMA® solution at the AFCEA. Because German employers are obliged to check all work equipment for possible interaction with other work equipment, the working environment or working materials. With the aid of OSIMA®, a systematic, efficient assessment of the risks can be made and the necessary protective measures can be implemented.

In addition, visitors to the ESG stand can find out about the topics of telemaintenance, interactive electromagnetic technical documentation (IETD), segregation assistance and equipment management, as well as returns management.
