ZVEI Fachverband Wehrtechnik: Schempp confirmed as chairman
ESG CEO to remain in office for another three years.

Gerhard Schempp will remain chairman of the Fachverband Wehrtechnik (professional association for defence technology) in the German electrical engineering and electronics industry association ZVEI for another three years. He was unanimously elected for a fifth term in office at the Fachverband´s general assembly last week. Schempp, who is also CEO of ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH, has been chairman of the professional association since the year 2000. Dr. Markus Hellenthal (THALES Defence Deutschland GmbH), Hans-Georg Morawitz (Rheinmetall Defence Electronics GmbH) and Franz Peraus (EADS Deutschland GmbH) were confirmed as his deputies.
The ZVEI association represents the economic, technological, environmental und sociopolitical interests of approximately 1600 companies in the German electrical engineering and electronics industry. The Fachverband Wehrtechnik unites more than 40 companies specialising in defence technology in the fields of information and communication, reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare, simulation systems, and logistical support for the German armed forces. As a partner to the Bundeswehr, the Fachverband with its combined skills represents an important industrial platform for dialogue with the armed forces, and ensures a transfer of know-how and technology from the civil to the military defence sector and vice versa.
