ADLER II
Command, control and weapon deployment system for the artillery

Since 1983 ESG has been the main contractor for the development of the series rollout of the command, control and weapon deployment system ADLER (Artillery, Data, Situation and Deployment Computer Network). ADLER has been in operation with the German artillery since 1995. An upgraded version, ADLER II, with more effective hard- and software was delivered in 2004.

ADLER II is the central system component of the artillery system, which through data processing support improves artillery fire control, precision of fire, the quality of target acquisition and flexibility during deployment. ADLER II supports:

• The processing and distribution of commands and messages as well as all information on the target and status
• The graphical preparation of information and the situational picture
• The availability of all data for fire direction and fire control
• The calculation of the optimal weapon and ammunition deployment for combat.
