Intelligence
The aim of public authority and military intelligence is to gather and evaluate information on relevant areas of interest, objects and structures and make it available to the users depending on the situation and job-oriented in a timely form, appropriate to level and requirements. The technical challenge lies in the evaluation across sources i.e. finding relevant and high-quality information in a multitude of different information sources. Only with modern and efficient information management can “Actionable Intelligence” be extracted from the abundance of data.
For many years we have been developing customer-specific IT systems for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Communications Intelligence (COMINT), Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).

As developer of the system architecture and entire operating software, ESG is responsible for the operation and continuous further development of the 24/7 core system for the stationary HF signals intelligence in the German Armed Forces. The system is used for collecting and pre-evaluating signals of all relevant modulation types and transmission procedures.

The “Interactive System for Information Exploitation” ISIE merges heterogeneous information sources into virtual information spaces and searches them for usable contents. The semantic search engine is intuitively controlled and can search through all current document types. The system includes automatic recognition of proper names and enables text-based searches in voice recordings that have been automatically or manually converted into text. When searching the Internet, ISIE also accesses the so-called “deep web”, parts of the Internet that are not indexed by standard search engines. Using a completely newly developed technology, all current relational database systems can also be included in the search.

Within the technical study EUROSUR (European Surveillance) we are currently providing technical support for the development of an EU “Common Prefrontier Intelligence Picture”, defining possible applications and components and developing the system architecture and technical specifications.
