Analysis of operational and maintenance data

Analysis of operational and maintenance data

The reliability of equipment and the breakdown pattern in use/during the lifecycle determine to a great extent the mean requirement for the operation of a complex, long-term economic good, such as a wind energy plant or an aircraft. For this reason it is important to understand perfectly the operational behaviour of the individual items of equipment.

For this reason ESG develops and operates special information systems that collect and evaluate the operational failure data as well as repair data. With the help of these tools ESG makes the operating behaviour of systems and devices transparent with respect to failure rates and prognoses and uses this knowledge in material requirements planning as well as for lifetime extension measures and in obsolescence management.

In accordance with the requirements of the customer, ESG creates analyses from this data as the basis for decision-making for:

  • Modifications
  • Maintenance changes
  • Cycle reserve requirement
  • Cost/benefit analyses
  • Stocking
  • Changes to equipment maintenance concept/material sustainment concept

ESG provides these services with in-house developed, tailor-made software tools e.g.:

  • WIDIS: Represents operational data for details of group-related equipment including the analysis reports created.
  • ARA: Provides a prognosis of the failure rates of complex systems and equipment from the available operational data.
