Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Drone Defence
ESG has already established its full chain of services in the dynamic future market of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), and offers its customers the full range of its innovative drive and capabilities. Our targeted technology projects have already set milestones in fields such as "Sense and Avoid" and "Manned-Unmanned Teaming". By working closely with the OEMs of UAS, ESG uses in-house applications to expand the capabilities of their systems. As a system support company, ESG takes on the full responsibility for UAS, and can manage UAS operation for its customers. Furthermore, its Unmanned Mission Avionics Test Helicopter (UMAT) can operate all of the development and testing aspects in the field of UAS for the customer.
Mini drones now represent a serious security risk both to major events and to safety-sensitive infrastructure and facilities such as power stations, major industrial facilities, Bundeswehr properties and criminal courts. ESG, together with leading German and European companies for radar, wireless and electronic defence measures, has developed a structured, scalable solution for the detection and defence against risks from the unauthorised use of commercial drones. The focus is on the integration of electronic detection, verification and defence systems and connecting them to a situation display and command & control tool (ESG’s TARANIS system).
Following its successful deployment at the G7 summit 2015 in Elmau, Germany, ESG´s modular drone defence system ensured the safety of the US President Barack Obama during his visit to the Hanover Fair and most recently the G20 summit in Hamburg in July 2017 .
