ESG is systematically advancing its automotive business under the brand ESG MOBILITY and has appointed Jörg Ohlsen as the new managing director
As of 1 October, Jörg Ohlsen will succeed Wolfgang Sczygiol.
ESG, a leading technology and innovation partner in complex and safety-related electronics and IT systems, is strengthening its positioning as a strategic partner of the global automotive industry in order to realize the mobility solutions of tomorrow. As a leading service provider at the interface between electrical systems/electronics and software/IT, ESG has been active in the automotive business under the brand ESG MOBILITY since 1 January. Now the company is systematically orienting its service portfolio to reflect the themes of automated driving, e-mobility and connected solutions, in addition to an extensive range of classic E/E, through to complete vehicles.
In this connection, effective 1 October 2018, Jörg Ohlsen is appointed Managing Director of ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH. While Kai Horten will continue to be responsible for the DEFENCE + PUBLIC SECURITY business areas along with the CYOSS (Cyber Security and Data Analytics) business area, Jörg Ohlsen will head up the automotive business of ESG MOBILITY. With over 20 years of experience in the industry and an extensive network, Jörg Ohlsen will succeed Wolfgang Sczygiol. Most recently as CEO of EDAG, Jörg Ohlsen designed and played a key role in that company's successful development.
“We are grateful that Wolfgang Sczygiol returned to ESG and assumed responsibility for the MOBILITY area for the interim. With all of his experience, expertise and the clear focus on the key themes of the future, Wolfgang Sczygiol has made an important contribution to the advancement of ESG MOBILITY. We're delighted that Wolfgang Sczygiol will continue to make himself available to ESG MOBILITY in a support role after October”, said Alexander Schemann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at ESG. “At the same time we are certain that in Jörg Ohlsen, we have acquired the ideal leadership personality for continuing to expand the successful development of ESG MOBILITY as an internationally leading innovation and technology partner to the automotive industry in the area of E/E and IT”, Schemann continued.
“I look forward to the exciting challenges and diverse perspectives I'm sure to find in such an innovative and high-performing company. Wolfgang Sczygiol and I have known and valued one another for many years and we share a common understanding of the changes affecting our industry. As such, I can begin seamlessly to continue the successful course over the long-term, whilst contributing my own ideas where appropriate and putting emphasis where it is needed”, said Jörg Ohlsen.
